the socket is live. the socket is not live when the power is turned off. there are 2 black wires, 2 red wires and 2 copper wires with rubber sleeving over them.

the picture is like this. a green circle in the middle of the screen, then a purple circle around this and then the 4 corners of the screen are normal.

the tv is 4 years old. there are no loudspeakers near it and i have just switched the set on and off and the problem is still there.
