Screwed up my measurements for french doors

Doors came today and yes theyre slightly too big by about 5-10mm. I've offered up the new unit to the opening from the outside with the existing door and frame still in place and they dont quite fit into the recess between the render. What can I do? Im reluctant to start hacking away at the...

Screwed up my measurements for french doors

Yes they are made and on the way now. The exterior walls are rendered and i measured on the outside of the existing door from render to render. I'm now hoping I might be ok as presumably there won't be render underneath the existing door frame so I should hopefully have some wriggle room and...

    Downstairs Ceiling/Upstairs Floor Problem

House built circa 1999/2000 Not sure which way the joists run yet but im guessing left to right in the pics as there are two weight bearing walls in between. Going to lift a floorboard (tongue and groove chipboard) which all seem perfectly intact at the mo. No cracking outside. No work done...

    Downstairs Ceiling/Upstairs Floor Problem

Hi guys 4 bed detached. Downstairs kitchen ceiling is coming away from the coving. If I get someone to walk in this area in the bedroom above, I can see the ceiling moving slightly up and down (enough to have caused this cracking of the interface between ceiling and coving). I am therefore...

What happens if you don't tile a shower wall.

As above but its also possible the water from the shower head is leaking down through the tap holes of the bath.

    Weird Hob and Oven Wiring

How so? I have a dedicated 32amp radial circuit to one of those 45a switches above the kitchen worktop and the 'cooker' switch serves a further double 45a connection unit under the worktop with an electric oven and induction hob connected. Nothing wrong with that.

Nest 3rd Gen & Valiant Ecotec plus 831 (again -sorry)

Do not jumper live to common or you'll fry your boiler pcb. The wiring is a straight swap as you suggest.
