How do you fit a bath shower screen over raised tiles?

Hi All, I've been advised to replace our bath shower screen with a new 'flipper' style one but about half way down the bathroom wall is a tile which has a raised rope twist feature. How do professionals cope with this? Here's a picture of the tile in question. Cheers Daz

Leaking Bath Shower Screen...advice needed please

Yes. I'm in the process of removing tiles that have come loose and will also grout where it's missing but need to get rid of the leak first. I'm very happy to get this flipper screen but not quite sure what you're referring to. Could you explain please?

Do I need to remove all the old adhesive?

I should add that apparently the Mapei Ultimate Showerproof ready made adhesive I have should not be more than 3mm thick. Well that's not going to work as it needs to be closer to 10mm. Am I going to have a problem and if so, what can I use instead?

Leaking Bath Shower Screen...advice needed please

I should add that I'll be replacing a piece of timber running vertically from under the bath where the front panel goes to the floor as this has rotted away and allows a bit of flexing which doesn't help!

Leaking Bath Shower Screen...advice needed please

Thanks for the reply. If I remove the bottom bracket from the shower screen, give it a huge clean to remove all traces of limescale, etc and then use silicon all around and behind it including where it touches the bath, do you think that'll solve it? I should add that the shower screen is one...

Do I need to remove all the old adhesive?

Hi All, I need to stick down one tile in the bathroom that has come away from the floor due to a leak over time. The tile is around 250mm x 150mm and had around 10mm-15mm of rubber based adhesive from 30 years ago. I've managed, with a heat gun, to remove 90%-95% of it but a very thin layer...

Leaking Bath Shower Screen...advice needed please

Here's a pic (sorry about all the mess and limescale). The silicon deffo needs replacing where the vertical part of the bath meets the tiles as when I press on the bath I can see a crack in the silicon so I'll remove it all and fill again but need a solution to stop the water otherwise it'll...

Leaking Bath Shower Screen...advice needed please

Hi All, Our bath shower screen is letting water through the edge of the bath (tap end) which then drips on to the floor. I've replaced both seals on the shower screen but it still does it as there's a tiny gap where the water finds a path. Is there anything that can be done or should I just get...

Hi All, Our Beko integrated heat pump tumble dryer is around 3cm taller than all our other integrated appliances and therefore I need to fathom a way of fitting the cabinet door to the hinges they supply by drilling new holes in the door. Quick setting grab adhesive advice needed please

Hi All, I want to stick a single gang plastic surface mount box on to a painted interior wall. What grab adhesive would people recommend? The box will only house a single data outlet. I don't want to risk drilling into the plasterboard wall in case of mains cables in close situ. Cheers Daz

What size tubular heater to keep black mould at bay?

I should have added that the wardrobe affected is only around 600mm x 600mm x 2.1m tall. The Dimplex model does have a stat on it but is cranked up all the way currently.

What size tubular heater to keep black mould at bay?

Hi All, Our bedroom wardrobe (fitted) backs on to an outside wall and one part of the wardrobe wall had black mould which I've now removed. I've installed a Dimplex 1ft 40W tubular heater at the bottom of the wardrobe. Is this sufficient to keep black mould at bay? Cheers Daz

    What type of screw?

Hi All, Bugle head screws aren't flat and I want a flat base to wall mount a bracket into a wall. So I'll put a wall plug in but now need to know what type of screw I can get that has a flat base.
