    Gravel Drive

Dimples, We have a gravel drive (20mm gravel), weed can be a problem, but just keep on top of them, the depth of our gravel is about 30-35mm which is ok to walk on but a pain to pull the wheely bin over :-) It does need raking every now and again as car wheels do form channels and displace...

    Shuttering question

Thanks all for your valued advice. Priced the wood today, didn't realise it was that expensive  , asked a company for the cost of form hire, so I will know which way to go soon. The hole is sheduled to be dug on the 7th April, so I'll post progress under the projects part of the forum.

    Shuttering question

Hi Plstering Its for a a vehicle pit, the walls will be 200mm thick, 4000mm long and 1680mm high. The base slab will be 250mm thick, all concrete will be reinforced. I'm thinking of using 100 x 75 for bracing the panels and cross bracing.

    Claysheild/Claymaster

Bit of advice please: 50mm Claysheild or 50mm Claymaster, is it strong enough to stand on without damage whilst laying out rebar, or would you put a blinding over it before standing on it. Thanks

    Constructing a vehicle Inspection Pit

Wavetrain, The pit project will be a welcome distraction from work, I enjoy reseaching and planning it out (apart from paying for it of course!!). When it gets used it will be worth every penny, when not, it will be a waste of money :-) Regarding the hydrostatic pressure, I plan to have...

    Constructing a vehicle Inspection Pit

Thats looks a superb job, and you have given me some great info in the pics. Put mine on hold through winter, looking at starting in the next few months when the water table is lower. Costing out the option of using shuttering block or just shutter and pour, spent £200 on timber to cover...

    cannot remove top of cistern

Without highjacking this thread, I have a similar problem with the flush valve on my Ideal Standard, the eco flush wont work but the main flush does. (Geberit Impuls 260 (Twinco 1)) I think. Reading previous threads it looks like the assembly needs replacing, can the flush valve simply be...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Jem As the others have said, get the electrician to check the charging voltage and current to the battery, its a given that this is where the fault lies. The charging voltage should be in the region of 13.8v DC charging current will depend on how discharged the battery is, whatever it is...

    Dim Pull wiring and types?

Mine works perfectly, the minimum light level before the dimmer cycles to ramp up is plenty bright enough to avoid danger, but low enough to give a relaxed ambiance.

    Dim Pull wiring and types?

I have fitted this one: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Wiring_Accessories_Menu_Index/Wiring_Accessories~Dimmers_All/Dimpull/index.html it only has a dimmable output, not a switched live which remains at 230v, as it is a two way switch, you could connect a relay to the live pole...
