2 quick plasterboard questions - foam adhesive + false roof

i have plastered a room myself, to a "good diy" standard, but it was a messy affair, took about a week, and made me NEVER want to do it again. a roof would be too much for me. really, 1/2 a day to skim a 4.5m2 roof....it'd be pre sealed by me....... i presume i cut the holes for the...

General questions, first time install, Combi...

"I presume manifolds are not normally used".... No need to be worried for me - from what i've planned out it should be fairly straight forward in terms of plumbing, and there is no rush to get it installed, so i can take my time, and make sure everything is done properly !

General questions, first time install, Combi...

well you'll all be glad to know i've found a RGI/Gas-safe installer who has agreed to come and do the gas, and then test/commision my new boiler. He's happy for me to do all the plumbing, and gave me a few bits of advice too. He reckons he'll do it for £200. So, time to buy some kit !!!!!

"If you as an operative decide to take on the responsibility of commisioning an appliance that you have not installed yourself you will take full responsibility for the installation !" so if i asked a RGI to come and do a boiler swap out, he would inspect the entire system, including...

i presumed that - the pump "pulls" the water from the return, then pumps it through the HE . Its always hard to explain how much of a bugger my house is. I need a sbs drill just to hand a ruddy mirror.....digging the garden up last year....i came across a block of concrete that seemed...

General questions, first time install, Combi...

sounds like rather sensible advice i must admit. At least i can make the RGI's job very easy - pre cutting holes for the gas pipe, Flue...routing a peice of string or likewise of where i want the gas pipe to run, provide him with good earth leads.....all this will keep the cost down, whilst...

General questions, first time install, Combi...

Yeah, I know it wasn't directed at me, But i just wanted to clear up the fact i don't plan to DIY the gas. As for skill, I completely know what you mean - My job is "semi" skilled....but i could teach joe bloggs the basics in less than a day - Would he be safe doing it though....I doubt it...

General questions, first time install, Combi...

i'm not a fan of breaking the law....Nor loosing my job over it....Hence why i'll be paying a gas safe dude to come and do it for me. So far, it looks like me doing all the hard work ( boxing the wall, mounting the jig, plumbing all the rads, taps, shower etc.....) then getting the guy in to...

Well, your wrong - I have NO intention to do the gas work myself....Although i'm 100% confident i could, i'm not going to ! i've previously worked with high pressure air, oxygen, and various high pressure gases( when i say worked with, i mean made custom filling rigs, manifolds, pipes...

General questions, first time install, Combi...

yeah, i mentioned that earlier - should be plenty of room for a metre of copper before i hit the plastic. as for the cond. run.....the soil stack runs vertically ( duh) around 2m from the boiler location.....
