    Which chain saw

My chainsaw-blade-resistant trousers cost I forget how much, my body harness $50 (33 pounds sterling), my lanyard $50. I need to make a gadget that places the lanyard around a tree trunk without having the heavy hook at the end come flying at me. I'm thinking some kind of hook made of copper...

Would the UK put up with a corporation that did this?

Come clean? What am I, Nixon??? US passport. My father & mother born in US. My grandfather from Deutschland & my grandmother from (then) Czechoslovakia. But I am working on developing alternate identities like the Jason Bourne character. One can only speak some version of German...

I had one of these, moisture caused corrosion on the PC board edge connector. 24vac in one side and 3 vac out the other side into a 10 megohm input resistance DVM and the connection resistance then comes out to be 3v/10M = I = 300 nA (24-3)/I = 70M I at first didn't believe it.

    Lights blowing ?

Not ranked in order of likelihood: Bad connection or someone stamping around on the floor above when the lights are on and so the filaments are mechanically weaker or fixtures don't dissipate heat properly or periodic or continuous overvoltage in the system and these are most sensitive...

setup an electric garage door opener to control lights?

A relay with a 230vac coil that is fed from the built in lamp socket and contacts that can handle the 'tungsten load' your extra lamps present. Look for it on electronics' surplus sites.

Would the UK put up with a corporation that did this?

The nozzle has to point downward at the end - all the other nozzles can be teased into dripping or will routinely drip.

    shortage of houses

Almost my whole life I've heard that there is a shortage of engineers and yet my phone has never been ringing off the wall. The idea is that many people go into engineering so there is a surplus so their wages drop. This scenario may somehow fit what you are seeing.

    Which Shower Pump?

This tells me that computer designed equipment works to an operational lifetime accuracy % precision that humans with slide rules and calculators could only dream of. :( Maybe there is a motor rewind shop nearby?

    5 Minute Temporary Power Supply

Depending on the camera current draw there is an off chance that you can use a supercapacitor.

    Scientologists

They came up to me in a parking lot once so I paid them a visit in one of their main offices. They had this 'E-meter' gadget that Hubbard said he invented, so of course I asked for a schematic for the thing. I guess I'm lucky they didn't beat the cr@p out of me for just asking. Also...

    Bass Amp

I would have given you less than one chance in four that this would happen, assuming the new parts are installed correctly. Does the pilot light still extinguish quickly? Save the old (apparently working) parts as spares. Check them if you get the chance, you can never have enough info...
