Well I trimmed back the one heat damaged wire to clean copper and made sure all the connections are tight....so it should be all OK. Thanks again for your help.

Upon further inspection of the live/supply wire it does show some heat damage with deformed insulation and discolouring of the terminal. Is this OK, seems a bit unusual? The shower and it's RCD and MCB were fitted professionally within the last 2 years.

Thanks CortinaV8 the junction box is probably the better idea rather than insulation tape. The wiring was done with the house in about 1980, maybe it was to put a light up there or a socket, but I just want it capped off safe.

I have a monobloc tap in the kitchen (only a year old) which has just started giving a loud squeak when you turn it on or off. Tried spraying some WD40 into it with no joy. Is it the beginning of the end for it?????? Thanks In Advance

On most kitchen cupboards with the white blocks both screws will have to be loosened (Not removed), as you do you should be able to unhook the cupboard from the brackets that hold it behind. When you replace the cupboard ensure the hooks are on the brackets, and then retighten/adjust the screws...

Help! Any ideas anybody. We have tiny flies getting in through our cooker hood from the outside ventilation pipe. The vent supposedly has a fly screen on, but they are so small they are still coming through! When you get home each day you have about 20 or 30 in the kitchen. Any suggestions????

The Instructions say I need to call Gainsbourgh! But they are just going to charge me for an engineer visit no doubt. Does anybody know this make of shower and if I can reset/replace the PRD myself?
