Many thanks for the info. I will have a look at restricting some of the other lockshields tomorrow and report back my findings.

    Radiator woes

Ok thank you. Maybe I'm being too hasty with how much I am opening and closing the lockshields and need much finer resolution, instead of using a quarter turn try an 1/8 or 1/12 if they allow that level of precision? It's really difficult to know which way the pipes run in this house and whether...

    Radiator woes

Ok so in the middle of trying that now. Flow temp on kitchen up to 50 and return 30 so that seems to have improved, but radiator still very lukewarm however. 2nd floor room temps rarely drop below 19/20 even in winter so could shut those off permanently I suppose if it would help.

    Radiator woes

Yeah I did consider that, does get fairly hot when I shut all others down. Copper pipes from the little I can see but the rest is all concealed behind units and wall. I have another little radiator a few feet away in a toilet just outside kitchen and that is red hot and assume the next one up on...

    Radiator woes

Kitchen is original kitchen and original radiators. House only 10 years old. Balancing the rest of the house is fine but success has never found its way to the final two radiators which I assume are the last two on the loop. Inlet flow temp is max 40-42 and return temp half of that. However if I...

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice after a week of pulling my hair out with my radiators. Bit of background, un-vented system in a 3 story house with 12 radiators. Boiler on ground floor, pump on 2nd floor (changed 2 years ago). 2 Radiators in kitchen never get hot under normal circumstances...

    Light Switch/Wiring advice

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me with the following problem I have with a light switch. I have a 3 story house and have a two way light switch on the 1st floor that controls the 1st floor landing and 2nd floor landing. The light on the 1st floor can also be controlled from the ground...

    Hot Water Issues

I will try and refill as advised. The heating seems to be working fine however, boiler fires up and runs no problem and all radiators in house heat up and stay hot.

    Hot Water Issues

Thanks for your reply. The pressure gauge is immediately next to the red pressure vessel. There is a piece of braided hose connected to a white pressure vessel which I assume is to fill the cylinder. I will try what you mentioned to see if I can bring the pressure up to 1 bar. Is it possible...

    Hot Water Issues

    Electrical Wiring - Ceiling Light

The current rose will be replaced with this 3 spot ceiling plate. However as there is a terminal block attached I just wondered if there is room to terminate all 4 neutrals? I realise the 5 lives can be terminated separately. Or would the electrician separate the fitting wires and terminate...

    Electrical Wiring - Ceiling Light

Thank you for your replies I understand a little more now So, if a modern light fitting was to be fitted with no rose would the neutral to the switch only have to be terminated with the fitting neutral or would the fitting neutral need to be terminated with all the other loop neutrals...

    Electrical Wiring - Ceiling Light

Evening all, apologies if this has been asked before but cannot see that it has and have checked the sticky but many of the images are missing. I have a question regarding the electrical configuration of a ceiling light. Before I ask, I must iterate that I will not even dream of messing with...
