    Re-enameling Bath tubs

Not sure if this is in the right department, but can anyone tell me if it's an easy enough job to re-enamel a bath tub? I have the idea it's like preping a car for a re-spray.

    How leaky is leaky

Just a thought, but if the olive is knackered (crushed) just check the pipe itself isn't too distorted too. might be viable to replace section of pipe. btw, just thought i'd mention.. getting a water tight joint isn't about brute force, it's about a precise fit. can't remember off top of head...

    Draughty DG Doors.

Anyone know how i can sort out a draught that's coming in through a upvc door? The draught comes in at the hinge side. Ive looked for screws to adjust the door but can only find the ones on the hinges to adjust the door height. The rubber seal looks fine. is there anything i'm missing?

    Should I get a combi?

Currently I have a Baxi back boiler, about 21 years old now. It recently had a thermo couple replaced and the plumber said it;s about time I got a combi, before it pacvked up. He said it would be cost effective, rather than the cost of replacing parts on the back boiler. Is that generally...

    Equipontal Bonding - Water

I've been wading through the interent, trying to find the details of where the strap needs to go but can't seem to find it. Does the strap need to be within 0.6 metres of the 15 copper pipe entering the house, and before the pipe has an elbow, t connector? is it before or after the stop tap...

Paint yellowing over a month problem

hi all, sorry for the late reply. It was Dulux's Once, that was said to dry in 90mins I think. I ruined the interior of the whole house with it :( I tried sanding it all down and re-painting over with Crown paint, but it went the same way. I'll get round to it later , but in the meantime...

Earthing gas meter, through insulated wall

I'm looking into running a 10mm earth from the gas meter to MET. a portion of the route is through the external cavity wall, but it's filled with rockwool. i don't fancy running it up the outside of the wall in ducting stuff. are there any regulations against me doing that?

    Thoughts about upvc facia

Just been thinking about fitting cover boards to existing wooden facia on a flat roofed garage. 1. Can anyone tell me of any negative aspects of plastic facia? 2. My neigbour fitted it himself and looked good until I noticed he had black streaks running down from the bitumen. It's a flat...
