    Can I use any sand to refill the gaps between the block paving? The reason I ask is I've seen plastering sand a lot cheaper than the sand intended for block paving at the builder's merchants.

    I fine it's very good at preserving the wood as it sinks into the fibres. Though is there a good longer lasting alternative to apply to the fence? A neighbour uses cuprinol but the wood is going after just 6 years.

    You say it's an old car with low milage per year? It may be am idea to check the age of the other tyres. They should be changed if over 6 years old regardless of how good they appear to be.

    hiya, I've been offered a 10 year old desktop. i haven't seen it yet but if it's got an atx power supply, can i replace the m.board and associated components and would a new m.b. fit? not sure if there's a problem with the power supply in terms of wattage from a 10 year old power supply?

    I've checked my brakes against the minimum wear in the haynes manual. I've got a 54 plate micra with vented discs. Iv'e got 6mm on the pads. The manual says the min. for the pads is 2mm. is that a bit too thin? Also checked the discs, which have about 1mm. before the minimun thickness...

    Just to add my 2pence worth.. have you checked the alternator and leads? the reason i ask is that if you've got a replacement battery, the previous battery might have been suffering from not being charged by the alternator or by being drained in the same way. although, as others say a duff...
