Thanks Celeronmanuk, I guess this is the key: A mortar bed is applied to the sanded strip. The slates or tiles are fixed on both sides, ensuring they are located and butted up centrally over the bonding gutter. Ensure the mortar does not enter the water channel of the slate or tile.

Hi, So I have a Ravenheat HE85T combi boiler (same as CSI85T) and the pressure seems to be reducing by ~0.1 bar every week. This is regardless of whether the boiler is in DHW mode only or DHW+CH mode. I've checked/ tightened all rads and even looked inside the boiler but I can't see a leak...

A quick update: The (non) issue was the thermostat on the hot water cylinder. For some reason it was set to ~40 degrees and due to heat wave, the demand for DHW would not come on I presume, so the boiler never fired. I moved it to 60 degrees and the boiler has been firing up fine since.

Hi Ian, Technically I am unable to get your point. The CH demand has been OFF for months from the timer. The 3 port valve has been engaged to DHW cylinder since. So unless there is a demand for CH, why would the motor even need to move between CH and DHW? Is there something else involved here...
