    Fitted an Albion unvented cylinder (much against my own wishes) and having trouble with the dual stat Its wired in correctly i believe according to the sparky but it doesnt seem to be picking up the temperature change, the cylinder just keeps getting hotter and hotter All zone valves etc...

    Whining noise is normally bearings so a fair assumption would be the fan or pump but if the manufacturers came out and said it was neither surely they should find out what it actually was because if never fitted one new that sounds like that I have had gas valves make a squealing noise before...

    I like to chase the wall out so there are 2 tails sticking out (chrome looks nice) that will go straight into angled rad valves fitted to the bottom of the rail That way you see little pipe work and alls well hidden

    Heat exchanger might have a bleed or an auto air vent on the boiler which should normally be closed after commissioning may need to be opened for a while

    It was a series of connected parts, the sealant was on a part I didn't want to remove. However I am a tight a**e :D actually meant the brush!!!! seems you are indeed :lol:

    Buy a new one tight arse theyre only a pound or so!!! haha Seriously i use a stanley to get the tape off and wire brush the sealant off if needed

    Grinding very different to kettling Kettling will be coming from the main heat exchanger which could be air especially after youve drained and filled back up again Is the grinding noise coming from the oil burner and not the water pump? Oil pumps are very noisy when they go

    Try draining some from with a hose on the radiator circuit, shouldnt need much to drop pressure but make sure the filling loop is 100% off and youll need to bleed rads after

    Possibly the plate heat exchanger then (small silver rectangular unit) No filter as such to block it will be the fins inside so probably be a replacement and add a limescale reducer on the incoming mains supply

    Id normally run 22 to the manifold and 15 to the rads, some use 10 but in plastic (YUK) the bore is tiny. Depends largely on system layout etc, but unless its huge you should be ok

    All installers are different, in my part of the world its worcester bosch as nobody else can get engineers out as quickly and im an AI for them Only other boiler i fit is vaillant really, depends on your budget

    If theres not too many i tend tun run them all back to one place in plastic (yuk) as theyre reasonably well suited to that and have all the connections on a manifold
