Help Identify A Warm Air Unit

That is a Myson/Thorn warm air unit. Probably 30-40 model. The filter is there in place. What looks like a hole on the bottom right is the access to the water heater control. Johnson & Starley will have the the installation/Service manual for these. They will also be able to supply any...

Could be blocked nozzle on the fill valve to the cold water tank. Could be scale blocking the inlet to to the immersion tank. These water heaters require regular de-scaling The scale in the immersion tank can build up and set like concrete witch requires chipping out with a chisel.

    Valve Next to Fireplace

May well have been a gas poker attached to it in the distant past if there is no evidence of a gas fire been fitted. As others have said get it checked out by a registered gas bod and have the outlet plugged or removed and capped under the floor.

    SYPHONIC ASPIRATOR

The aspirator that that is suited to the Turbo Siphon I think you will find does not screw in but pushes into the outlet before tightening the large retaining nut. You may have to trim the spigot if it is too long and touches the porcelain after passing through the small hole. Start...

Potterton Prima b central heating fault

The Prima B does not have a PCB. Your problem is very likely a fault with the motorised valve. Best to get it checked out by someone that knows what they are doing. Switching the boiler off at the fused spur or plug will turn off boiler and pump.

Potterton Prima F 40 - Main burner not lighting

What evidence do you have or want that anyone on this forum has a a clue about how to deal with your boiler? The Prima is a very simple boiler to fault find and most GSR fitters would be able to sort your problem in a short time. You do not know the credentials of anyone replying on...

Potterton Prima F 40 - Main burner not lighting

So! You would not trust gas reg engineer to check your boiler but would not hesitate to to ask advice on a forum infested with wannabees, DIYers, google warriors and a bunch of inebriates claiming to be Gas Safe registered.

Blocked Water Mains Pipe Due to Broken Off Stop Tap Part

Could be that the original stopcock was installed the wrong way round. This would prevent the water flowing and instead of refitting the stopcock in the correct direction the plumber just took out the jumper to save time and effort. Can you see an arrow on the old part? Should be...

    What is this please?

Some more details would be helpful. If that is connected to an oil or gas boiler then it would be the condense trap. (I would suspect a Worcester oil boiler)

    Anyone Fitted A Surestop Tap?

Fitted a fair few of these over the years and not had one come back. Can sometimes be a bit of a pig to fit especialy when you have to neatly cut a hole in the back of a unit and cut the tee into imovable pipe work. All in all a great boon to the elderly and those that are unable...

    Reverse Flow to clear sludge

Probably the pump is gunged up preventing a good circulation. Isolate the pump, remove the head and clean up the impeller making sure to get all deposits out of the channels and centre. Also whilst the pump is off hold a container under the outlets and open the valves for a very short...

boiler will not fire on demand

Very likely to be a problem with the flow switch. Check it out with a multimeter or continuity meter to see if it switches when tap running.

    stop cock??

No problem. Use a 1/2" male or female iron to 15mm copper depending what thread coming from stop cock. Screw that onto stop cock and short piece of copper or use a speedfit adapter and go straight into the fitting.
