    The work wil not be DIY but out of curiosity I did enquire to BC about the cost of certifying a new circuit and they quoted £181.00 .They did sugest that it would be cheaper to employ a trician.

    Hi,Ihave been posting on this site regarding a CU unit and other associated things and noticed that the boiler was fed via a 16 amp fuse in the CU to a FCU witha 3 amp fuse and I just wondered if this was ok .It's been installed for 5 years now with no problems.

    Going off the original post a bit here,When I pay the BC charges does their fees cover all notifiable work associated with the loft conversion,building work ,electrical.I know I can ring them tomorrow and get the answer but out of curiosty today would this assumption be correct.

    thanks for the replies,the builder has a plumber and a sparks who do this side of the job ,architect plans and relevant calulations for loads etc have gone to BC who now require to be informed of the commencement of work.

    Thanks for the replies,the circuit is protected by a MEM M6 type1 16amp breaker,is this an rcd?.The two double sockets will be above the work top and then ,coming off the sockets, two fcu ,s will feed the two single sockets for a fridge and a freezer.So will this be ok and is the circuit breaker ok.

    I have an unused 2.5 cable coming from my cu protected by a 16amp fuse.Could I run two double sockets and two single sockets off this cable as a radial cicuit.Would I have to notify this work if it was possible to do.The circuit would be in the kitchen area.Regards.

    removing rad

    A bit daft this question,I need to remove a radiator for some work I am having done.Is it ok to remove the rad and then put stop ends on the inlet/outlet pipes of the pipework .The rad will not be replaced.The system is a combi type and the boiler is in my loft space of bungalow.cheers
