Removing wallpaper to then paint wall

You have 4 options. 1. Use lining paper. 2. Scrape off the rest of the remaining paint. 3. Get a plasterer in. 4. Leave it. I'd go for 3 if money isn't a problem, otherwise 2.

    Ceiling finish

That picture is computer generated I reckon. You'd probably need an epoxy resin or something, no idea how you'd go about applying it to a ceiling.

    Paint Gloss Oil/water based

Generally the finish is not as good as with oil based. How many coats you need is more dependant on the surface, ie. previous colour/finish and condition. You'll probably need at least 2 coats. I would only ever use it if there was a lot of woodwork and small children about as some clients...

    Fired Earth paint

It's nice to use but overpriced. Although it depends where you personally get the value from. I think some people get a lot of satisfaction from buying into into these brands and so to them it's worth the inflated price. No idea who manufactures it.

    Painting Plasterboard Advice please

Well you should really have thinned the first coat down by half and then a second coat by a quarter followed by a third coat. Bit late now though. Oh well, hope it turns out good.

Now - just WHAT IS that stuff called - is it any good ?

I dunno what you're talking about but you can get things like Pollyfilla Easyskim. Although if you have no experience of using a plastering trowel then beware, it's harder than it looks to get right. It's also pretty expensive. When you say it won't budge, you are talking about the remains of...

Do you really mean plasterboard? Like this: Or do you mean pink plaster/skim?

    Overlaps visible when hanging paper

Good advice. Thanks. I've used border adhesive on this to make sure it doesn't come up so I think I should be alright as far as staying down is concerned. A lesson learned anyway.

    Cracked Walls and Lining Paper

Not really a solution but might be a good idea to find out the cause of the cracking before you redecorate, otherwise you could end up with your new rooms ruined in another years time. I can't see that any other kind of filler (flexible or otherwise) is going to help the situation as if the...

    Overlaps visible when hanging paper

If only. It was a linen type texture in a "lovely" varied sand colour with occasional very light cream cross patterns. Reminded me of Noel Edmond's beard during the House Party years. Not entirely sure why, but there you go. The only other thing I can think of to avoid this in the future...

    Overlaps visible when hanging paper

Not usually, but this particular corner was all over the place in terms of squareness, there was no way to keep the next seam straight. The reason I didn't cut down with a blade when wet is I thought the seam wouldn't dry right and probably push together as the paste dried around the corner...

    Overlaps visible when hanging paper

When papering corners with the standard overlap technique I've found that thicker papers, especially textured vinyls leave a highly visible line where the bottom piece stops under the top one. Is there a way to prevent this? I'm asking as I've returned to a customer's house this morning to...
