    Damage classification

That is nothing short of disgraceful! Really can't understand people saying expect it? Yes expect some general dust etc but don't expect your home to be damaged! There are to many trades that leave mess/ damage and really don't care, as a decorator I see it all the time! Plaster's are the...

Zinnser Peelstop - not sure if suitable, any advice

Its more likely its oil based gloss you're scratching off, sounds like its been bumped in the past (no undercoat straight gloss). What I would do is get some fine wet and dry and give a quick sand to key then apply two coats of zinnser perma white, you can get semi gloss and eggshell. Its...

Looking for a matt finish on my skirting boards and....

I use Johnstone's mainly it looks sheen'y at 1st but don't worry it does dry to a mat finish, waterbased eggshell will keep its whiteness longer but if your not use to using the stuff the finish can look bad.

    painting a wooden ceiling

Hi, there's a couple of options just depending on what you can get hold of. If its stained or varnish I would lightly rub to give a key, then you can undercoat (oilbased) but you won't be able to apply your emulsion for a good 16-24hrs. I would only do that if I couldent find a 'zinnser'...
