If you have drained the c/h side of the boiler then you most prob have air trapped . The auto air vents can sometimes get blocked and so air doesn`t escape. may need cleaning/replacing. Sometimes turning the boiler on and off stops /starts pump and helps push the air into the c/h system Q...

Contact Domestic and General they do offer boiler cover usually much cheaper than B.Gas. There`s a lot of money to be made in geting people on a service contract so shop around various insurance companies and you might strike lucky.

c/h pump runs on after a demand on dhw has been made to cool main h/exchanger.

Will be stuffing box on top of water valve.Have changed loads of them. The servo valve and tubes could be cleaned out while your at it. Never have dv`s failing completely only the diaphragm inside it which can tear. Paul 8)
