'Range Rating' a combi

i dont think they would make a boiler that blasted 30kw from the start, most if not all would have a soft start then build up to the max rate, range rating the boiler just helps to run the boiler in the most efficient way.

i don't know if the baxi 105he can be range rated.
i know biasi and heat-line do.
biasi from the control panel from the front and heat-line has a pot on the pcb

Agile ,,, please tell me how the 3 main combi manufacturers Valliant Worcester and Baxi/Potterton allow range rating on heating out put.. So we can all understand how DUMB installers are.

Dont know about Worcester and Baxi but I can tell you exactly how to range rate the Vaillant series if you want me to, or do you want to see if Agile can tell you

I've never come across a combi that can be range rated down to 5Kw. Usually 9 or 10 is the minimum. Never heard of main h ex scaling because of this either. Its all to do with the heating efficiency curve for a condensing boiler and keeping it condensing as long as possible.

I would agree with this.
He,s an academic person and looks down on people who are more practically minded or have skill using their hands and are therefore not worthy of a reply.

One practically minded person from history ( a joiner by trade) with great skill was John Harrison who solved the Longitude problem with extraordinary mechanical insight, talent and determination.
The board of Longitude sadly never recognised his great accomplishments though.
But who is remembered today ?

Industrial refrigeration. Not strictly gas in the sense you are thinking though some installations involved the hydrocarbon refrigerant group .
Most refrigerants are extremely good at finding weak joints.
