Cellar ventilation ground level coal chute

Hi all. I have a damp cellar and need to let it breath a bit. The only exit is via a coal chute that’s been blocked (I will re open it) presumably because water ran in. I’m struggling to find any product that provides a water tight ventilation for coal chutes/holes that are level with the...

    Driveway aggregate

Just looking to confirm or deny if my gut feelings are accurate. So in simple bullets; 1. Is Derbyshire peakstone as hard wearing as granite? Or does it disintegrate like Cotswold and slate. 2. Should I remove Tarmac or is it ok to gravel over top provided hardcore is whacker plated into the...

    Driveway aggregate

Hi, I'm currently looking at getting my Tarmac drive done in gravel. I was originally thinking Cotswold Chippings but a friend said it can turn to dust quite easily. A builder has suggested plumb slate but I know slates brittle so I don't think that's a good idea. My thoughts are that...

    Shower not getting hot enough.

Usually the simplest solution works. I adjusted the max temp and it now gets hotter. Thanks for your help guys. On a side note are the large square drench type heads rated? I find the pressure is less compared to normal shower. Less invigorating. Is that a trade off?

    Shower not getting hot enough.

I'm 100% sure it's then right way. When I turn to cold it's freezing. When I turn to hot it's warm. That would make me thinks it's plumbed right!?

    Room temp problem

Thanks D_Hailsham. To be honest that sounds complex for your average home user. I do notice the tap icon as well as the rad icon display all the time. I'm not back home till mid week so will check setup then. Is this kind of advanced settings supposed to save fule?

    Room temp problem

Hi all. There is a small white dongle type thing on the north external wall literally behind the boiler. Pressing the info button on the thermostat I can get a reading for the current room temp (23) the external temp (10) and the temp I have set (16) House was roasting when I got in from...

    Room temp problem

Kind of makes sense but in a cold house if I turn it on and increase the temp dial the heating comes on, so I don't think it's hooked up wrong. For eg, if its on 6 degrees and I up it to 20, boiler comes on and radiators get hot. Maybe this extract from the manual helps. Seems confusing...
