Potterton Suprima 70 & Myson Power Extra Valves

Thanks for the reply Agile I have the tank thermostat set to 60 degrees. The room stat is set to 20. Not entirely sure if it works though...! If we took heating out of the equation, so the boiler was only producing hot water for the tank for taps etc, the 5mins on/5 secs off cycle of the...

Potterton Suprima 70 & Myson Power Extra Valves

Hi guys Anybody shed any light on this please...? I've just had a new pcb fitted to my Potterton Suprima 70 (as seems to be the norm after a period of time with these things...!) Boiler now fires up when required and heats hot water and heating well... However, when I have either hot...

    Door says open when closed!

Interesting. ALthough I HATE calling 0870 numbers with a passion as it's open license for companies to keep you holding on the phone and skin you for cash, I called the Friedland customer care number today. The phone was answered in about 4 rings and after a brief explanation of the...

    Door says open when closed!

Well, as yet, I haven't connected the tamper circuit. I tried disconnecting it from the door sensor, but it made no difference. I'm not entirely sure if the SA5 has a tamper circuit anyway. There are 4 connectors T1-T4 and a common ground. All I've connected to the SA5 is those two...

    Door says open when closed!

The logic 4 is the old system. It's about 15 years old I think! The new system is the Friedland SA5 which is wireless and wired. The manual (as far as I can see) has no info for re-configuring door contact polarity/logic. Thanks for the help guys...

    Door says open when closed!

I've just re-read that last post and it confused me...sorry for not being clear! In the SA5 there are 4 wired terminals: T1 - Is attached to the front door T2 - Is attached to the Patio door T3 - Is attached to the Kitchen door T4 - Is attached to the Garage door. Terminals T1-T3 all...

    Door says open when closed!

Sorry...generic Jones homes alarm that just says "Logic 4" on the front. No clues inside what make it is if "Logic 4" is not the make. Strange now... Swapped the wiring across to a different door terminal (front door) in the alarm, so the garage door which was giving me problems is now...

    Door says open when closed!

The new alarm is a Friedland SA5. I've taken the door contacts out and tried swapping the red/yellow wires around. No difference. I've manually moved the magnet (turning it either end as well) and it triggers, but "Door Closed" when the magnet is away, and "Door Open" when the magnet is...

    Door says open when closed!

Hi guys Got a wired alarm, and have just updated the panel. All the sensors work great, except that one door when opened shows "closed" on the panel and when closed shows "open". They are all wired in exactly the same way! I've tried swapping the wires around in the door sensor, but...

Low Voltage Strange Dimming result !

Ok...problem fixed for anybody that's interested/has a similar problem...! Having investigated up in the loft and having moved a few bits around, I noticed that the low voltage cable had got very close/crossing over the 240v line and must have created an electromagnetic field between the two...

Low Voltage Strange Dimming result !

ok...that sounds good. Is it fixable or am I stuck with it?!

Low Voltage Strange Dimming result !

yeah...tried that. Didn't make any difference. Could I have a fault/earthing of the supply do you think? I thought that either 240v is either good, or it isn't!! I'm baffled!

Low Voltage Strange Dimming result !

I think I'm being a bit thick here....but maybe one of you guys could help me with something I am obviously not getting...! I have a room with 3x12v low voltage spotlights (20w each) They were running off one transformer with a special LV dimmer switch. When the dimmer is used, 80% of it...

    Simple job....got me stumped !

Hi Yes...problem was solved. I was looking too deep into it. In the end it was just a simple circuit cut "in series". I discarded the neutrals and used the two lives as a series connection.....that was it. Thought it was far more weird than that really.... Thanks for all the...

    Simple job....got me stumped !

Thanks soggy_weetabix Yeah...that was basically my conclusion. I think it's more of a "work it out for yourself" rather than go by their diagrams. ....unless of course you are PEDANTICVINDICTIVEMAN, then you could do it in your sleep.

PEDANTICVINDICTIVEMAN Thanks for the constructive help. What may be obvious to you, may not be to others. I thought that's the point of a forum like this. ...i must have been wrong in your case.

    Simple job....got me stumped !

Hi guys. I'm a newby here. Great forum. I've just spent the last 45mins trawling through my search results to loads of permutations to a problem, and can't seem to find what I need, so apologies for starting a new thread. I have an old Honeywell mechanical thermostat for my home...
