    question about hollow plaster

One of the best ways to hear loose plaster, tiles, even wallpaper, etc, is, to run the back of your hands/finger nails across the wall, far more effective than tapping/knocking on the walls.

    Scrim or not

I always mesh tape everything with a joint in it, I even run mesh tap down the edges of corner beads. You wont need much tape, so ask a friend, painter and decorator, plasterer, anyone who might have some.

    Storing closed Bonding/Easifill bags

Not a problem at all, it's ok. It's when you leave them in a damp/wet area for a while, that causes problems. Also, the bags have an internal polythene layer nowadays, so that helps it too.

Plasterboard inside wooden cupboard? Advice needed!

Not a problem at all, as long as there are no sockets of pipes behind the wall. Screw the plasterboard to the wood panelling, tape the joints, if any, then skim, no problem.

cost to get a professional in for this?

Exactly Benny. There's people out there who think that if they do all the prep for the incoming plasterer, "we'll put the tapes on for you", "we'll do this, we'll do that", thinking the bill will be smaller, doesn't always work out that way.

cost to get a professional in for this?

I would not even think of doing it for that price. 2 weeks ago, I did a job for a couple who had an archway removed from their lobby, so that meant a ceiling repair, and 2, full height wall repairs. I charged them £380, including materials. The walls throughout the house are plasterboard lath...
