Newly plastered and painted ceiling - crack already

Got plasterer in. Did great job, and then we painted.

2 weeks later and theres a crack half way across the ceiling. Can't blame the plasterer.

Whats best way to sort this?

Give it a good ignoring to until you next decorate, that’s what I’m doing anyway

The crack was probably there already, it should have been spotted and taped before the ceiling was plastered.

hmmm. How would it have been there? We had artex pattern before - he scraped this all off and laid new plaster.

OK but now what can I do to fix?

Scrape out the crack using the edge of a screwdriver blade or something similar to create a V. Fill with your filler of choice. I use one strike from toolstation. Sand down if required and paint.

Whatever you do, make sure the crack is taped, otherwise it'll come right back.
