    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

Hi all Just wanted to update you all and also had a question. The saga continues. Building control came around and failed the inspection, not only was the kitchen vent not connected, but also the new shower and bathroom vents. They're literally venting into my new insulation and loft boarding...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

So after stopping the leak, he filled the radiators with water to a pressure of 2.7,bled to 1.9 then left. I further bled them to 1.5 later and this is the colour of the water in the radiators.. Should it be this colour?? Bear in mind all the radiators are brand new

That's quite scary.. Why is it a terrible mixture? I will definitely be bringing up the insulation..

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

It's sort of like that along the length of the pipe though as well, not just at the soldering ends

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

Need some advice if possible... Does this piping need replacing? The builder is saying it's not leaking so can be left alone Looks really poor condition to me..

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

I very much doubt he has a reason. I did not realise he was doing the pipework - he is not a plumber either he's just a general builder. Thanks for your input @Lower and @johnny2007 - pretty much confirms it is all old pipework. The leak detection engineer confirmed where the leak is using a gas...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

I'm working on it. I'm getting him to fix the major issues then I will bring up why I will be cutting his pay short. Most recently he lied through his teeth directly to a leak detection expert and told him all the CH pipes/plumbing are brand new while I was not there, even though he previously...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

How important is it to fix that brickwork? The floor is only 80cm high and he's refusing to do it..

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

It's icynene spray foam and fully breathable. It was not done by this same builder but a well rated insulation company who gave a guarantee and assured me its fully breathable even over the ventilation bricks. So I was not particularly worried. It was dry as a bone under there but admittedly...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

Small development.. that I am really concerned about. The builder came along and told me he will find the central leak. Our house is built on suspended timber with a brick wall foundation that is built within a large concrete sub foundation. To find the central heating leak, I came back to find...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

We did not sign a contract, he gave me a quote but it was not comprehensive with all the details included. I gave him a counter-job list which he agreed to but we did not sign..

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

Good suggestions.. He has £4k left to be paid at this point. I've got no idea what sort of funding and needed payment via BACS but I am thinking of taking him to court. I found him on Trustatrader with 20 five star reviews and he was the only person available when we started despite red flags...

    Never ending renovation, any recourse?

I did a full home renovation before moving into my new family home. Cost me around £85k out of pocket at the moment (ie life savings) It would have been the best decision of my life, had I picked the correct builder. Instead, I'm spiralling into depression due to the project never ending and...
