Radiator Trv's have been replaced but not working properly

Yes they sent a plumber to do this in case it needed draining down. They are coming back tmrw but don't know how to challenge really. But I have very little control over the rads now. Bedrooms upstairs are freezing at them on setting 3.5 lounge rad is on full whack is running on setting 4 and is...

Radiator Trv's have been replaced but not working properly

I agree but apparently they have had it confirmed from the supplier that as long as the valve heads fitted the fitting then they would be ok. I've also read on another post that these valve heads control to completely different points and shut off somewhere between 22-19c on the highest settings...

Radiator Trv's have been replaced but not working properly

Yes but the company supplied these trv heads. I guess they need to drain the system down and replace the valve body too so that valve body matches valve head?

    Altech TRVs and Lockshields

I've also got this same issue, mine are not coming on at anything below setting 4 and then they are too hot at 5 anything below 4 is off and thafs with a room temp of 17c. Did you replace the valve as well or just the head.

Radiator Trv's have been replaced but not working properly

Just had home breakdown cover company out to some rads that could not be controlled with the trv's. The original trv's were 10 years old and made by eca, he said the mounting clips had snapped so this is why they were not working as they were no longer sitting properly on the pin. He's replaced...

Mira Combiflow Shower - flow rate lower than at the taps

They had better not! Lol I have a gloworm 30cxi capable of hot water at 14ltr per minute. What is confusing is that the flow remains the same 9ltr per min on full cold or full hot so it's almost as if something in the shower is restricting it. I've called mira as it's still under warranty...

Mira Combiflow Shower - flow rate lower than at the taps

The flow rate has been like this since we got the house really but isn't as powerful as our friends who are on a meter of the road. We don't have a water meter. Yorkshire water have just been out and they have done a flow test and say there is only 10ltr per minute coming into the house when...

Mira Combiflow Shower - flow rate lower than at the taps

Pipe work is plastic and only 5 years old, no scaling either and would expect the strainers to have been clogged before anything else but they were clear. Is it ok to run the shower without the strainers I wonder if that is holding the flow back a bit. As I say it's fine from the bath taps...

Mira Combiflow Shower - flow rate lower than at the taps

I have the above shower. I get flow rates from the cold and hot taps of the bath and kitchen at 12ltr per minute However from the shower with the shower head removed I get only 10ltr per minute. This makes no difference if it is on full cold or full hot. The bath taps are connected to the same...

    Room stat for heat pump

The solution is to set the return air temperature so it is sensed at the probe in the controller rather than the actual air con unit. I had the same problem with my system (non Daikin) When it senses the temperature from the actual unit either mounted on the ceiling or the wall in heating...

Advice regarding balancing of small system

Yes all seems to be ok now. Even running at the lower temps the burner runs for about 4/5 mins once its cycling whereas before it was more like 30seconds

Advice regarding balancing of small system

True but it was also causing the boiler to short cycle at the Lower flow temp now it runs for longer before the burner cycles off.

Advice regarding balancing of small system

Ok tonight I have had to alter a couple of radiators ever so slightly were talking of 1/16 -1/8th of a turn as with the lower flow temp the radiators were cool along the bottom. Perhaps I was a little too "reducing" yesterday!

So it shouldn't affect it really?

Advice regarding balancing of small system

So if I find rooms are not warm enough because the rads are not equally hot when at the lower flow temps whereas when they were open the rooms were what do you suggest I do? Increase flow temp when before it was enough? This would cost more to run then.

Advice regarding balancing of small system

So I am assuming if the rads are equal temp balanced at 60 When I operate the boiler with the lower flow temps if the rads are significantly cooler at either end I will open valves ever so slightly?
