Hi Guys,
The store is directly heated from boiler. The immersion heater at the bottom has been disconnected.
Andy, funny enough i was looking at the pump last night. There is a possibility that it could be leaking air into the system when heating the store. Not sure if it could be an...
The boiler is a Baxi Solo WM 50/4RS. not sure if it is a condensing boiler, as have read on forums is not advisable for a thermal store. (short burns to keep store at required temp)
Just doing the maths i put 2 lots of X200 in before which calculating the volume would of been good for a 200...
Guys,
The wife has informed me the rumble does start from the boiler, then pipes but the loudest rumble / noise comes from the store itself.
Is it possible a lot of gas is being produced by the boiler and then making it's way to the store, where it gets released by the F&E tank?
DOH! Thanks ianniann! That works out as 245 litres now :D
Hmm.. Yes maybe remove the immersion heater Razor! That is not used!
The drain off valve does not work either, probably gunked, so i normally drain from the boiler valve, which leaves the bottom still gunked up!
Will i be able...
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your quick reply. Not sure so I have uploaded a picture.
The noise comes from the store, seems to be after the boiler has heated it up. There is a tank jacket on it. The top has a F&E tank.
i have drained and filled this up several times, so the flow is ok...

Hi All,
I have a thermal store which is heated by the boiler. A second pump also circulates this to the CH. A coil with blend valve provide the HW. It's been rumbling recently (localised boiling? sludge/scale perhaps in the bottom?) and after some research appears it requires either...
Hi ChrisR,
Yes, it is directly heated from the boiler, the same water is then used to pump around the CH. A coil in the tank is used for HW. So the tank temp is required to be quite high 70-80 degrees.
I don't think it has been regularly maintained and obviously the high temp will cause...
There is no mark / name on the tank, i'm trying to de-scale inside the actual tank. not inside the hot water coil. i think there is a lot of build up in the base as the drain valve is clogged up.
Hi All,
I have a thermal store which provides combined hot water and central heating. It's been rumbling recently and after some research it appears it requires de-scaling.
I have tried X400 followed with X200 + X100, but that fixed it for a short period. But i read on the forums that...
