B&Q £200 cement mixer - anyone used it?

My current project is taking a bit longer than I planned (thanks, British Summer). It's costing me money to hire a cement mixer that spends all day in the garden whilst I am at work, so I'm thinking of buying one, and then selling it once I'm done with it. I'm afraid there's no link on B&Q...

Laying hollow concrete blocks on mortar for the first time

Hi all, I'm building a wood fired oven on a concrete base, and am about to start on the supporting wall, which will be made from hollow concrete blocks (heavy). The blocks will be filled with concrete. As I doubt I can lay each block level, I will need to bed them down with mortar, so that I...

    possible faulty cpu/mb

If you could see anything on screen, you could try disabling on board graphics via bios, before trying to use your own screen. Sounds like the on board gfx is kaput, time for a new mobo perhaps, unless someone else has a solution

Fixing a gate post to a wall

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm attacking this this weekend. I will need a 100mm post, how much of each fixing should ideally be in the wood? Obviously I'll need to countersink each one by some amount, but will 50mm of screw be enough? Also, I'm looking to get some B&Q 135mm frame...

Fixing a gate post to a wall

Hi all, I need to fix a gate post to a brick wall, the gate post will have the weight of the gate on it. I have no idea what my options are - right down to post dimensions and fixings. It'll be a wooden ledged and braced gate, so not light by any means. I think I'll need a 100mm x 100mm...

Sloping driveway - plans to put down bespoke shed & hot

Out of interest, is there any reason why the shed has to follow the fence and path lines? if you're laying a new base, then the currently planned footprint will disappear, wont it? or have I missed the point? Other options are to buy a standard shed, and then if you need to use an odd...

    CD burning

Hi Jon, as you've found it can be a number of factors that screw things up - media, software, hardware. I've always found that cheap media (eg the dvd/cd) is cheap for a reason. as for software, I've been using Imgburn for some years, but I've never had reason to burn images to watch on a...

Have you changed the hardware that you're using to play the discs on your tv? Have you finalised the disc after burning? what software are you using to burn your discs?

Best way to fit a garden gate to a wall

Thanks all for your help - have measured up over the weekend, and will be going with the timber fixed to the wall approach, a well painted door, and a decent amount of water deflection on top and bottom. cheers!

Best way to fit a garden gate to a wall

Hi all, I need to have a full height garden gate to block off my sideway. I may buy a cheapish metal one, or if I have time, strip and paint an old internal door that I have (it looks like this...

Washer and Seating sets - where to buy?

Cheers JonB, but I think I have got it wrong - I've got one of those, the item I'm after is a plastic or acrylic 'thing' that sits in the bottom of the tap assembly - something like this: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44793 thanks for your assistance, much appreciated!

Washer and Seating sets - where to buy?

Hi all, my google-fu seems to have failed me. I need to buy a washer and seating set for a kitchen tap that's getting stuck (it's a last ditch effort before replacing the whole lot). I've already tried reseating the tap, that hasn't fixed it, and I've been told that a washer and seating set...
