If you could see anything on screen, you could try disabling on board graphics via bios, before trying to use your own screen. Sounds like the on board gfx is kaput, time for a new mobo perhaps, unless someone else has a solution

Have you changed the hardware that you're using to play the discs on your tv? Have you finalised the disc after burning? what software are you using to burn your discs?

another thumbs up for pure aloe vera gel. Get a plant, they're easy to look after, and soooo handy to have around.
