hi, gcol, may I ask a question: why don't tile on bonding plaster directly? what's the skim for? and does "skim" mean using "finishing plaster" on top of bonding plaster? look forward to your reply. thanks a lot!

hi, just learned some knowledge about preparing the wall for tiling bathroom from this forum. now my plan is: for the shower/bath area, use plasterboard; for other walls in bathroom, use bonding plaster, then tank the wall. Toppstiles staff just told me that they have waterproof...

but how to define "small"? the size of wall tiles I am goint to use are: 40cm*25cm, should I tank the wall or not?

learned a lot from gcol's reply on this post. I am a newbie to this forum and am retiling my bathroom this week. gcol said use plasterboard and tank it in the shower area. I wonder if I can just plaster the wall and then tank insread of using plasterboard? which way is better? thanks.
