With the G2, you can only see the panel version from the menu. Menu 23 will show the panel version. Unfortunately, the only way to see which portal version when connected to the G2 is from the portal PCB itself.

Try it with INT setting and closing the tamper by hand and placing the magnet next to the glass reed - some devices also register in normal working mode. If the LED is lighting on and off when tampering or placing the magnet next to the reed, then it will likely be transmitting.

You may damage the passive speaker if you connect to a digital output. It may be worth posting a pic of the sounder pcb front and rear. The Dimension will work with 8 or 16 ohm. It's pretty loud on the 8 ohm but adjustable with the on-board pot.

Version 3.54 is the latest. The RS485 bus mode option for compatible 3rd party communicators was added in version 3.37. Note that this setting switches off the Intellibus port and functionality is limited. PM sent.
