HI,
Hoping for some help, we have an old alarm in the house which has worked fine (not maintained with ADT) and I have been changing its batteries etc. We just got our broadband changed and no longer have a telephone line and since then, the alarm will no longer turn on because of the tel line fail error.

I don't have the master reset code, but I do have the engineers code (I think as its written on an old document from ADT).

Is there anyway I can reset the code with the engineers code? Ive tried 12345, 1234, 123456, 112233, 1122 etc but nothing seems to work,

Phoned a local alarm company (in Edinburgh) and they suggested either a few hundred pounds to reset the system, or £800 for a new one... Hoping to see whether there is something I can do first or is this a dead end?

Thanks

Yes you can reset the manager code from within the engineers menus, also from engineers you can turn off line fault monitoring, but at this time of night the exact processes elude me, I'll have a further gander during normal waking hours .
That is unless others are more awake than I.

Thanks that would be appreciated. I tried to get into the engineer menus 50 and 60 but it kept saying I had no privilege and no where to enter the engineers code

Unfortunately, you need to enable engineer access using menu 48 with manager level access. PM me, as I'm in Edinburgh a few times a week and may be able to help you out. I have an engineering version of the SelfMon VMOD that resets the manager and engineer codes back to default.
