    Boiler pressure question

The So the pressure gauge on the boiler indicates the pressure in your sealed central heating system and not the water pressure in your hotwater taps. The pressure in your hot water taps comes from your mains cold water pressure which is fed in to your boiler. The flow rate you have to your...

    Boiler pressure question

Flow rate and pressure go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other.

    Boiler pressure question

Ok first all you’ve got very confused but that is understandable. Let me make this simple combi boilers are rubbish. The problem you are having when you run your shower and another tap whether it be hot or cold water is normal with combi boilers. Get used to it.

    Water Pressure

As far as the heating goes it’s Impossible to say without seeing unfortunately because it could entail far more than you realise. But if you meen 5k to pressurise just your hotwater, that’s probably far to much. It may be doable but I suppose it all depends on mains cold water pressure that you...

    Water Pressure

To convert from gravity fed to mains cold water you most likely would need to change your cylinder. A mega flow would probably be the one to go for in a house. However, the size cylinder you’d need is undetermined without being there to see. Same goes with boiler choice. The size of the boiler is...

how Do I measure whether there is enough inhibitor and cleaner in my rads

That’s why I said drain the system first. That will flush out the cleaner. One bottle of inhibitor does approx 10 rads. He said he had 21 rads. No need to make this simple job harder than it needs to be.

    New rads, cleaner necessary?

If they are new radiators then the only thing that will be necessary is to add inhibitor to your heating.

how Do I measure whether there is enough inhibitor and cleaner in my rads

I’m sure it would be easier to drain the system and add two bottles of inhibitor. That will be plenty for 21 rads. Then you will know for sure.

    F1 fernox filter

Your right removing the lid is asking for trouble. Most of the times the systems I work on are old I like to see all the muck on the filter magnet. Sometimes it can be very surprising.
