Evening all.. I live opposite a doctors surgery and when it is windy the alarm can go off randomly during the night at all hours.. I called the doctors and advised them of this and they called an engineer out who told them there was no notifications of the alarm being triggered.. Any ideas...

yikes just checked and seen the debate?? The reason I would install the RCD protection is for my own peace of mind so I can walk away from the job knowing that the work I have done i.e my cableif buried in the building fabric are up to current standards.. in this situation the customer isnt...

never thought of a RCD FCU i was thinking of a 2 way RCD board but the RCD FCU is a much better idea the existing breaker is a MEM type 1 5amp 51QEB i might be wrong but i am sure i have seen this type of breaker in an RCD format that takes up two spaces in a board sure it was in a bill...

i did mean the steel conduit would be buried in the building fabric not on show.. but as you say if its required to be rcd protected then i will mention that he will need a new board or a an rcd unit mounted alongside his existing fuseboard thanks

sounds like you have perm live in com and switch wires in a connector..so light is controlled by both switches... you need a permanent live and neutral and earth into a jbox then a permanent live switch live and earth from yhe j box to the switch then from the j box a switch live neutral and...
