    How long should it take...

Yeah, the builder seemed to think so as well - he's got some new guys in today & they reckon it'll all be done by Friday lunchtime. The original guys reckoned that because of the extension being my new kitchen, they had more than the usual amount of sockets to cut out which was slowing them down!

    How long should it take...

Cheers - came home from work early yesterday to find the guys packing up and leaving. That was 3 o'clock! No wonder they aint getting things done. Spoke to builder - he is the one who hired the plasterers, and he's going to sort it out. Paying him a price for the completed extension so...

    How long should it take...

to dot & dab, then skim a new extension I'm having built? Room is 26' x 15' x 8' - one 15' wall has large patio doors & one 26' wall has two small windows. Have had a couple of guys here for 5 days now - they've only got about half the walls boarded so far - should it take that long, or...

    s3xy

Have used these - bought some from TLC recently... They look nice - quite stylish, but are a bit too flimsy for their own good. The socket is so flimsy that unless you're installing onto a perfectly flat wall it will buckle when you do the screws up to tighten it to the wall. When this...

    MR board

Hello, Forgive what might be a stupid question, but does moisture resistant (green) plasterboard have to be coated with a bonding agent before plastering? Can you not plaster straight onto it??

    Skimming tapered edged plasterboards.

I need to skim plaster over some tapered edge plasterboards - can I do this in one hit, or should I plaster the tapered bit first to get it flush with the rest of the board & then plaster over it again when I do the rest of the wall? If I did it in one hit, would the tapered recess show when...

    Soundbloc / Acoustic Plasterboard`

Cheers guys. Have been trying to find somewhere that stocks/sells smaller sheets (1800x900) as they're easier to get through the hallways & up the stairs of the block of flats I'm in. Just been on to a local Travis Perkins & they have GYPROC SOUNDBLOC RAPID @ £9.85 a sheet, which will do...

    Soundbloc / Acoustic Plasterboard`

Hello All, Does anyone know where I can buy small quantities (5-10 sheets) of acoustic/soundbloc plasterboard? None of the diy sheds stock it... Need it for soundproofing a party wall. Thanks, DY.

    Astacast sinks

Just happened to be stumbling by and noticed this thread... I've got a black Astracast ROK sink at home too - looked great in B&Q, and great for the first couple of weeks that I had it fitted... then, slowly but surely, it started turning white with limescale stains. I've tried everything...

    Plasterer caught nosing around house

If I'd found someone snooping around my home I'd crack them over the head with a shovel & bury them in the back garden. Seriously. Done it before, would do it again.
