just looked and the live red go,s to L on supply side and black to N on supply side, other wire isnt live and the other wires red and black are on the other end of block labled load, the red and black on load side arnt live, can i take the load wire out of the light switch and just fit the new...

it go,s to an ordinary 1 bulb light fitting

p.s. it may have had a fan in the ceiling at some point , if that explains the wiring in the switch,

its just the pull light switch thats in the bathroom, im just replacing the unit for a better looking one, the whole wiring system in this house is a bit ****ed, so replacing the wiring loop is like polishing a turd, thanks for last instructions, will try it, but herby say i did it of my own...

sorry , didnt reply sooner, it operates a light, im presuming its part of a loop ,both red and black going in and red and blck going out, is there a way of joining two of the wires

the switch operates a pully swith, which i am replacing , the one in the ceiling has 2 cables 4 wires,going to it, prsuming loops to a nother light, and i want to fit a swich that has L1 and L2 and com 1

the new pull coard comes with a diagram for either 1 way or 2 way fitting, but not any colours of the wiring

im fitting a new pull switch in my bathroom , the one thats in now has 4 wires red and black into the load part and a red and black in supply part on the rose fitting, the new fitting has l1 and l2 and com-l can you advise where the original 4 wires go in the new fitting please

its actually a VP5-2e but someone told me it was same book as vcw 242, have tried that link , but its only new boilers mine is prob about 20 years old thanks

Does anybody know where I can get an electronic version of a manual for the valiant VCW 242/282. I have visited Vaillant's website, they have nothing, neither have they replied to my email requesting a manual. getting bit desparate,can any of you experts help cheers :(
