Caulk / Joint Filler / Joint Cement

I've put up a stud wall, but what do I fill the gap at the top with. I was thinking it should be caulk to allow for movement in the joists, but is this wrong?

Emailed Creda to ask this & they said these are the correct mountings, but they don't even fit through the mouning bracket. Any ideas?[/img]

Can i make a ring out of a 16mcb radial?

Ring would be better & should be fine if 2.5mm T&E. Change MCB to 32a as well.

Storage Heater Mountings on Breeze Block Walls

I need to mount a 3.4kw heater on a wall that appears to be breeze block, but what mountings do I use? Creda say Rawlok R6054R or Unifix LB70/10mm. I can't find these anywhere, Rawlplug don't have them listed on their site & Unifix don't even have a working website. Is it a 70mm length x 10mm...

    Junction Boxes and multiple connections

Thanks! Yeah, that makes sense. Was kind of thinking there must be something like that using a kind of busbar, but your method certainly sounds a lot better than a load of junction boxes crammed with wires!

    Junction Boxes and multiple connections

I'm sure there is a straight forward product that solves my problem, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. How should a large number of lighting cables be joined? Sticking them all in to a single point on a junction box seems a little haphazard, although this is how my lights are currently...

    Storage Heaters and consumer units

I need heating in my flat and storage heating seems the best option. Currently there is a single rate meter leading to an old fuse box. My questions are as follows: -Is there a charge to change to Economy 7? -Do I need a second consumer unit, or can a single unit accommodate economy 7 as well...

BC have been out & advised to join in to the shared pipe as this would be easier. I didn't fancy that idea either!

    Connecting in to underground drainage

Hi, I need to connect a new soil pipe in to an existing sewer. The new soil pipe will go in to the ground about 1' from the existing underground pipe and about 2' from the nearest manhole. However, the exising pipe is 2' down under a concrete driveway, oh, and it's shared with other houses. I...

How long before you can paint concrete render?

It's just a small patch, not a whole house. Is a week long enough, even in this crappy weather?

Not paying full amount for bad work.

You need to write to the builder if you have not done so already. Even though he is aware of why you are unhappy it needs to be formalised. Look at the 'Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982' and use this as the basis for your letter. You need to formally give him the chance to put right, but if...

I don't think anywhere sells them in imperial sizes now. Maybe a reclamation yard?

How tightly can you bend 10mm?

If I pop the bending spring on I can get nice tight 90 degree angles on it, but is it ok to bend it tight. Would like to minimise the joints in the system if possible!
