    Why would BT sort it out they may not be his service provider , Openreach would sort it out at the service providers request , if you havent had an engineering visit when your line was activated then report your line as faulty to your service provider and then openreach will sort it out for you.

    Or you can cut more out of the worktop so the tap only clamps to the sink and that would make it fit as its supposed to.

    As an openreach eng , yes you are right they are started to be fitted on new estates , but as yet we cant get hold of them , so you couldnt get one fitted by openreach legitimatly let alone get one from a local engineer

    But its 5pr cable , which is enough for five phone lines , On new housing estates we have gone from using five pair down to two pair . so a five pair is more than plenty unless you just like wasting money on cable that wont get used. :lol:

    We now use a dropwire closure for outside which is about 4 inch long and clicks together to protect the crimps , find youself a friendly eng and ask him if he will let you have one or a bt80 if thats what you need .
