Hello everybody I moved to a new Barratt house in August and since then I have been hearing an annoying tapping noise coming from the main drain pipe. cable from outside junction box

I have a BT socket in the dining room at the back of the house and one upstairs. I would like to have a socket in the living room at the front of the house. Can I use the grey (slide cover type) junction box by my front door and route a cable to the living room from outside after drilling the wall?

    spur from smoke alarm????

Just wanted to have a bulb in the loft but the only live wire up there seems to be the one going to a smoke detector. It's quite a thick grey wire so maybe I could cut it, connect another wire that goes to a switch and then up to a light bulb....What do the pros think????
