    Perhaps you should reduce the flow of the cold water incomming to the boiler. It seems that the flow is too high for the boiler to cope with.

    Sorry forgot to mention the heating/water system is fed by a Vaillant Condensing boiler which is located at ground floor level. The problem rad is about 3foot away from the boiler.

    If your moving a rad then i assume you will be adding more pipework to the system. If this is so you will have to cut into the current pipework therefore you will have to drain the system down in order to move your rad.     I dont quite understand what you are trying to say tbh, but if your asking is the tap connector supposed to be connecting in that way then the answer is yes.
