    Reclaimed rosemary prices

Building Control do not get involved with issues like this. The quality or integrity of workmanship is not of their concern. Clients (ie you) can have an architect/contract administrator or similar to oversee the work unless they do-it-themselves

    roofing issues

The roof should be safe to walk on, try to keep most of you weight on the bottom 3 inches of the tiles. To replace a tile slide the tile above it upwards and then pull down after

    Reclaimed rosemary prices

The reclaim yard almost certainly won't credit back at the price paid, they will have a re-stocking charge. Those prices are very realistic

    roofing issues

The pitch does look as if it is too shallow which means that the roof will not be keeping the rain out. It also looks like the gauge of the tiles may have been 'stretched' and the tiles have been laid 'straight bonded', both of these factors will increase the likelihood of roof leaks. BTW...

Does this Velux sun tunnel look right to you???

That's a very acceptable job IMO. The type and size of flashing is what it is, you can't change it. The gap at the sides is good practice as it allows free drainage, ie no clogging by leaves etc. I think that Velux recommend a gap in their literature, have you checked? All in all I...

chimney flashing with rosemary tiled roof.

Previous comments still apply - it's up to you. Code 3 lead is correct for soakers but flashings must be Code 4 (or 5)

chimney flashing with rosemary tiled roof.

A flashing at the top of the render is not strictly necessary (think rendered plinth around base of houses) but if you want belt and braces it won't do any harm; it can be just a narrow strip over the render or a wider strip taken into the gutter. A standard size soaker is about 180 x 180 mm...

    Roof Tile for bathroom extrator?

Fitting a Tile Vent is easy, it's generally one out, one in; fitting a slate vent is more of a specialist job. You need to find what type of tile you have and get a vent tile from a roofing merchant. It's nonsense to say your extractor might not cope, provided you install the vent as near...

    forth roof tiles

The Redland Stonewold Mk2 is the same width as your tiles. Redland may have made a 'mock bond' variant for the Scottish market. Any help?

Roofing irons (extract from Do I need a re-roof)

Thanks for that Alastair. I've got a feeling that knowledge will come in handy someday even with the H&S considerations! How's this for a head nailed slate? http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=124906

Roofing irons (extract from Do I need a re-roof)

alastairreid wrote its an L shaped piece of flat iron with a spike welded onto one end and a foot welded onto the other to accomodate a piece of flat timber which cushions the roof covering from the point pressure created after the spike is driven into the nearest truss. together with another...
