Immersion heater(s) tripping rcbo when runs for a while

I had the same problem and it was one of the relays in the timer had failed so that one immersion heater had power all of the time. When the second one switched on, both were running and the breaker tripped. I replaced both the relays for less than £10 Do you have a multimeter or volt stick? Brian

Fed up of boiler problems and leaking radiator plumbing, want to move to electric heating - what are the best options?

Modern storage heaters seem to work well from what I have heard. Paying 16p per kWh overnight on economy 7, but still not as cheap as gas. Will also need a hot water tank/unvented cylinder Brian

    Sky hdd in pc

Disk drives for PVRs like in a Sky box need to be optimised for video storage and not accurate data storage On a video it is better to ignore bad data and carry on to the next frame, so error checking is less rigorous. For PC data it is better to go back and have another go to get the data...

    Electric heating

7 year old storage heaters will be a lot better than those from the 1970s; our 20 year old ones are not too bad, but nowhere near as good as modern Lot 20 compliant ones of course Are the heaters definitely coming on at the right times? Best way to check this is to read the day and night meters...

    Simple panel heater

I agree it's expensive, but it's the function that I like: Set core to 30 or 60 degrees, set room temperature and that's it, and you can put clothes over it or a towel without it burning the house down There must be a cheaper one with similar features. If not, fan heater it is Brian

    Simple panel heater

Thanks both. I'm liking the look of this oil-filled one: https://www.toolstation.com/terma-electric-radiator-camber/p57241 but a heated throw is a lot cheaper - time too talk to the boss Brian

    Simple panel heater

Hi, we have storage heaters on economy 7 and panel heaters in the bedrooms The panel heaters we have (Ambient Air) need someone with a degree to program them, but I don't want to program them, I just want to switch them on for a couple of hours now and then when it's a bit cold in the bedroom...

    Quinetic basic questions

I'm not sure about doing this as I think the Quinetic switches send a "toggle" request. This means that the receiver would then change state, so if it is on, it would turn off and vice versa. This means that the receivers can get out of sync due to interference etc. with the switch and some...

    No signal to subwoofer?

Looks like Lucid’s suggestion is the best way forward then, if your sub has speaker level connections

    No signal to subwoofer?

Hmm, page 14 of the manual says it outputs low frequencies from the main and centre channels unless 6 channel discrete signals are connected How are the inputs connected? Using the speaker level outputs is certainly another way of getting it working though
