    outlet pipe for washing machine

You can buy 2.5 m hoses in DIY stores. I got mine in B&Q. Or else try ebay or the myriad of internet spares suppliers. If this length is enough I would advise against joining them if posible. Joined hoses are only another possible source of a leak.

    Lavamat 50500

My mother in laws 10 yeear old Lavamat 50500 makes a horrendous banging when it goes to top end of fast spin. After a battle to extricate the machine from under the worktop I have only had the opportunity to give it one run to try and identify the fault. It makes an incessant hammering when...

my Hoover Performa 1100 ac110 keeps stopping mid cycle

Sounds like the heater element. On a hotter wash you should be able to hear water heating up if you put your ear to the machine as it pauses in mid cycle. just like a kettle it can take a few minutes before it is apparent but you will hear it faintly as heat starts to come off the element

    External Water Heater- Overheating

For 16 years at home (since new) we have used the oil fired heating system to heat the house and the water. Although fitted to the copper cylinder we never used the external electrical heater ( can you call it an immersion?). I have now switched it on. Within a minute or two the copper cylinder...

    dry run washing machine

Are the valves on the feed pipes fully turned on? If they are then turn them off and remove pipe from rear of machine and check to see if filters in valves are clear. Pull off filters with a pair of pliers and clean them.

    washing machine overfills

Have you cleaned out the pipe from the drum to the pressure switch? You should be able to blow air through it. Also check out if air trap bottle (if present) is also clear.

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

burro I thought you had given up! The motor should have nothing to do with things. If the power is going to the board then when the programme is set to a wash or rinse the valves should open, the pump should pump out water and the drum should turn all depending on where yoi are inthe...

Kenwood Microwave KEN GJ/SS25 - Bulb replacement

I would say the bulb is replaceable in every microwave. Great if there is a small outer cover to unscrew in ordwer to access the bulb. If not then it is a matter of taking off outer large cover having switched off and unplugged the appliance. Locate bulb and replace without sticking your...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Burro Yes the two blue wires at the microswitch. Unplug machine first of all, Then pull wires off switch and then bridge them with a piece of wire making sure the wire makes good contact with the connectors and everything is insulated from the metal of the machine. Then turn on a mains and...

Was the machine doing anything when the fuse blew Was it in the middle of a program? or did the fuse blow when you switched the machine on? Something must have caused the fuse to blow! I don't understand about opening the timerr! This is the steel/aluminium box that the selector shaft from...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Can't see dust doing anything. Did you actually open up programmer or just look at it? If you remove programmer from front crossmember leaving all wires attached ensure that all edge connectors are fully pushed home and that spade connectors are on tight- they usually are very tight. Any...

Kenwood Microwave KEN GJ/SS25 - Bulb replacement

If there is no excess cover on the inside or outside then remove entire outer cover. Sometimes it can be a bit awkward with some microwaves and you need three hands to get the top and side panels fit back into place but achievable!

Hoover Logic 1000 (A3670) not spinning / rinsing properly.

You should ensure that when you remove the hose from the pressure switch that the hose is clear all the way back to to the drum including the small chamber at the rear of the drum. The chamber and hose can be readily removed and blown/ flushed through. If the pipe is not clear the increase or...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Pump sits on bottom of washer on right hand side looking from rear. Two wires come from top of machine past water inlets and down side of machine.( Remove rear panel to see). They attach to terminals on the pump. If I recall if they come adrift the machine will not function. Just make sure they...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Have you got power into the machine as far as the on /off switch? Are you getting a voltage at the on/off switch.? As an aside are cables to pump secure attached to terminals as this used to be a weakness on some Hoover machines.

    Fibres left on washing

I agree. Washing gets rid of most of the fibres except for the occasions when a tissue has been left in a pocket and it gets into the drum. Arghhhh! If you are fortunate to have a separate tumble drier or a washer drier this gets rid if any remaining fibres, especially those disintegrated...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Burro Back to basics. Was the fuse blown in the plug or not? Check that there is power at the socket. Plug in another appliance such as lamp and wiggle plug in case you have a dodgy wall socket. Is fuse in plug OK despite the fact you replaced it and is it tightly fitting. Check fuse for...

Hoover soft wave washer dryer 1100 NO POWER

Have you checked that the main on/off switch is working and that the door interlock switch is also working? The wires to the interlock might be OK but the switch itself can fry with the result that it can fail in the open position or in the closed position(not in your case). Can you check...
