My mother in laws 10 yeear old Lavamat 50500 makes a horrendous banging when it goes to top end of fast spin. After a battle to extricate the machine from under the worktop I have only had the opportunity to give it one run to try and identify the fault. It makes an incessant hammering when going at full speed. I can't feel any play in the drum bearing . The spider and the pulley wheel seem secure. A slight acrid small was also noticed when in fast spin. I wasn't too sure if a problem with left suspension leg as moving it seemed to reduce the banging. Anyone have any suggestions as to the probable cause of this fault please.
