    maximum measured Zs

No sorry its a been a long day. I just didnt want someone just changing the switch position because they thought it needed to be in the opposite position for a dead test to a live test. But as i said picky, Ill get my coat

    maximum measured Zs

Hi not trying to be picky but as the second test should only be done on a dead circuit. Riveralt you say for the live test ZE main switch should be open you then say for the dead test main switch to be open too.. Could be a little sparky.

    Input or Output Wattage

Agree with what has been said about the cable, but every Microwave i have ever looked at comes with a 13a fuse fitted. Especially since the accepted range of fuses to be used for devices has become 3,5 and 13. The dear old 10A although still available to buy is rarely used by manufacturers now...

    PIR GRADING QUESTION

Thanks all. Its an interesting one because this has been installed by a qualified and registered electrician or at least by one of his workers in the last two months. Usually their standard of work is good but this was obviously noticeable and also the new CU that they did at the same time i...

    Reverse polarity

Yes checked that and it doesnt appear to be, unless a junction box has been used somewhere. A lot more inspection and testing needs to be done i was really interested in the thoughts on the option of using sleeving in the worst case scenario.

    PIR GRADING QUESTION

How would you grade this on a PIR. 10mm CSA shower cable running from the CU out through the door frame up the outside of the house then back into the loft space. The cable is standard grey cable and where it runs up the side of the house on the outside wall its just clipped with no additional...

    Reverse polarity

Yes i see what you mean and i didnt look for a FCU although definitely there wasnt one within a meter of it, I looked at everything withinin that distance, trying to track where the ring was tapped in to unless its behind one of the cabinets.

    Reverse polarity

Hi Sparkwright. No I tested 3 other sockets 2 in the kitchen and 1 in the lounge directly behind the faulty socket, all these showed correct polarity. Only two ring finals on the CU 1 for upstairs and one for down.
