Its not a fan to cool down the food, its the cooling fan for the magnetron, sometimes they have extra fans for electronics etc.

If the airflow to the cooling fan or from it is restricted in some way it will keep cutting out to prevent damage to the hob. Why are you leaving it on full power for 30 mins seems excessive. Alot of commercial stuff is not designed to do that.

You say the motor was cleaned, do you mean the commutator and brush holders were cleaned ?. It is not uncommon for the brush holders to get clogged up preventing the brushes from moving properly. How worn were the old brushes, could you see the copper braid in the end?

To be honest it is not usually cost effective to get someone in to do a bearing change on a machine this old. (unless you have a friendly person to help). You may need to change the bearings and spider, so adding to the cost, the motor bearings may also be coming up to the end of their life...

Er a brand new one, all 800 deluxe I have seen are around the 9*** model machines and must be 20 years old. Easy to connect up with a Y piece if you don't have a hot supply, they will work ok.
