    Uneven suspended floor

I've have examined conditions of sub area and put in new joists in corridor so they're all in good condition. I am gonna do some additional repairs in other areas. No stuctural issues has ever been flagged up. The slope in the corridor is actually only about 3-4 mm so I am thinking I may be able...

    Uneven suspended floor

Thanks. A floating floor might work but won't there still be some sloping even with plywood subfloor?

    Uneven suspended floor

Hi there We have sanded original victorian suspended wood floors on our ground floor but have been thinking about installing engineered floorboards on top. They are sloping a tad from room to room though, particularly the corridor. Would anyone be able to give me an idea of what's involved...

    Re: Kitchen Hardwired socket

Yes correct, it's a connection plate. Bearing in mind electricity isn't my strong point, there is an isolator switch for both hob and oven. Like you said, probably best to ask our electrician.

    Re: Kitchen Hardwired socket

Hi There We're instaling a new kitchen. The previous owner had a hardwired socket installed for the induction hob. Additionally they connected a vertical lead to the same hardwired socket and which comes out of the wall further up. I assume this lead is meant for the hood. Question: Is it o.k...

    Levelling compound gone bad

It's not a million miles from being o.k for sure. Difficult to say for certain how far out it is. I have some sample Amtico LVT with underlay attached. When laying them over the concrete area there's slight movement/wonkiness in some places. Perhaps 1mm.

What would you skim it with?

    Levelling compound gone bad

Hi there Our tiny kitchen has predominantly a wooden floor with a small patch of concrete just in front of where kitchen cabinets will be. We had someone put plywood over the wood and then levelling compound over the concrete with the idea of having the two surfaces be same height...

    Levelling compound for small dents/dips

Hi there I was thinking of fitting Amtico Clicksmart floor in our small kitchen Our kitchen subfloor is part plywood and a small patch of concrete. The concrete patch is level with plywood but overall the concrete has small dents and dips here and there which makes is slightly uneven. Is it...

    Semi Circle Chase

    Ikea doesn't have a void

    Semi Circle Chase

I'll need to get an electrician in anyway to move a different socket so will get them to have a look at it to make sure all is well.

    Semi Circle Chase

I assume it connects the two sockets together, can't see what other function it would have. Will stick to original plan

    Semi Circle Chase

That's correct, chase in the big loop would be ideal as it falls within my level of expertise. A shorter horizontal cable between the two sockets is worth considering. I guess I could cut the chase myself and get an electrician to connect it all up.

    Semi Circle Chase

    Thank you. Appreciate it

    Semi Circle Chase

O.k that makes sense, thanks. One more question: is it best to use some kind of conduit to protect the cable?

    Semi Circle Chase

That's right it will be behind the cabinet so I guess there's no need to fill the chase. Vertical chases are fine to fill right?

    Semi Circle Chase

You can just about see the sockets in this picture. So a horizontal chase is o.k?

    Semi Circle Chase

Hi There I am about chase some cables into our kitchen wall so I can fit an Ikea kitchen. In the picture you can see there's one semi circle horizontal lead which I assume daisy chains two power sockets. My question: Is it o.k to to cut a semi circle chase or is that not a good idea? Any...
