The second electrician says the first one shouldn't have issued a satisfactory EICR.

Many thanks for taking the time to write all that up! My question now is, what can I do with these docs, if they're proven to be carelessly filled out / wrong? Can I go after the electricians in some way? Is there any point in even doing so? And what do I have to look out for next time I hire...

I'll post back with a better quality pic when I visit the property next time, thanks all for your so far input!

Yes, exactly that. I just replied to a comment above.

There's no immersion heater anymore, as the shower is now connected to the boiler.

Correct, the blurry is the new one, the other is the old CU.

The blurry one is the newer one, sorry about the confusion!

Unfortunately, the only pic I have at the moment is a really blurry one... I don't know to what extent you can make out anything (certainly not the labels!) EDIT: I found an older one...

I suppose for an hour or so, to replace the socket and inspect the consumer unit? I don't know (he was hired by my contractor).

The second electrician says the first one shouldn't have issued a satisfactory EICR.

In my rented property I had the fuse board re-installed a couple of years ago and an EICR was issued as satisfactory. I'm not a sparky myself, nor exactly familiar with the whole process, so I trusted the guy. Now, another electrician comes along that replaced a wall socket, looked around, and...

Sealing the gap behind an office worktop

What's the diff between a low tack tape and painter's tape (masking tape)?

Sealing the gap behind an office worktop

 this is not even on the list! Unfortunately he left about 30% of the work undone... We're talking about push to open drawers without the mechanism, tambour door cabinets installed in place without the track or the door, and no accessibility to fit the track now, cabinet doors missing, side...

Yup, that could be a idea, thanks.

Sealing the gap behind an office worktop

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think it'll look ugly with the wooden bead, plus I'll need to find a similar veneer etc. Clear silicon maybe yes.

Sealing the gap behind an office worktop

The joiner I hired to do my home office left the job unfinished, resulting in a lot of snagging, one of which is a gap about 1-2mm behind the worktop. The gap is uneven since the cut was uneven, due to a bent static wall. Should I do anything with it like seal it with silicone or caulk? Or...

    Noisy acoustic/intumescent gaskets

When I ordered these doors, I told the joiner that I was particularly interested in acoustic isolation, so maybe that's why he went with these. Do you have any product in mind that's both intumescent, smoke, and acoustic proof?

    Noisy acoustic/intumescent gaskets

These are internal doors (so in each room). The property is a flat in a purpose built mansion. This work was to replace old doors with the doorstep and everything.

    Noisy acoustic/intumescent gaskets

Do any such plastic gaskets act as intumescent seals whatsoever?
