PIR sensor's running LED downlights (possible???)

http://www.danlers.co.uk/pir/wacepir.html has no minimum load requirement, I'm sure there are plenty of others too.

    House Socket Isolation

I think you've misunderstood the potential problem. If the two legs of the ring are in separate MCBs then either MCB will be able to apply power to the circuit when the other is off. What you won't be able to do is turn off the circuit with any one MCB. You need to confirm that turning off...

A little help with LEDs please!

Surprised I didn't think of this before, but it strikes me that EL wire may be absolutely ideal in your application, on account of it being very thin and giving an even level of light throughout its length.

A little help with LEDs please!

You can definitely buy LED strips assembled on a flexible PCB material, similar to that used on thin ribbon cables inside modern electronics. One of the many thousands of examples available...

Help with light switch please! Rocker in wrong position.

Well done that man. Don't waste your time changing any of the wiring. What you describe is expected behaviour for a 2W circuit.

    45a MCB and Wylex

He'll still need to be able to inspect the cable route, so it would be far better if you chose your electrician and then agreed this with him beforehand. Otherwise, he'll still be climbing up into the loft to re-check the work you've already done.

A little help with LEDs please!

Couldn't you just adapt a pre-made string of LED christmas lights for your application? Either that, or use less LEDs, as 200+ is an awful lot. You may be able to lower this number significantly if you can find a way to diffuse the light properly.

Anything illegal about 'outing' a cowboy builder on the net?

I'm certainly no legal expert, but if you can prove what you've written on your web site to be true, I find it hard to believe that you could be forced to take it down. It's not libellous if it's fact. On the other hand, it may be better for you in the long run to agree to take it down in...

    What Are My Options?

I don't know what the DNOs opinion would be on sticking an immovable 42U rack full of gear in front of the cutout such that it can't be accessed in an emergency...?

    Is this a NO-NO? - 13a socket on 40a RCBO cooker circuit?

Change the unswitched double socket to a fused connection unit feeding the hob ignition, problem solved.

    equipotential bonding request

It sounds to me like you did the right thing - you installed PEBs to all metallic services entering the properly, including CW main and the HW and CH supply pipework from the boiler house. I think now you'll have to fall back on the big red book and perform the tests described in there to...

    What Are My Options?

My bad. I guess I should have said supply head rather than meter, as presumably the OP will be wanting the whole lot moving.

    Is this a NO-NO? - 13a socket on 40a RCBO cooker circuit?

I don't think I've read the original thread, so perhaps this is why I'm confused. I got the impression at the start of this thread that you have a 45A DP switch feeding a 2-gang unswitched socket outlet. In that case, how could you ever have a vacuum cleaner and kettle plugged in at the same...

    Is this a NO-NO? - 13a socket on 40a RCBO cooker circuit?

The debate is with regard to whether or not an accessory such as a socket to BS1363 should be protected by anything larger than a 32A OCPD. In your case there is no cause for concern, as the maximum load that can be pulled through the socket is limited by the fuses in the plugtop. Furthermore...

    What Are My Options?

Unfortunately the DNO are the only ones who can move the meter, so you're at their mercy. They will work live, as it'd be a bit of a nuisance to turn off power to your street and possibly beyond every time someone wanted a meter changing or cable extending.

Vertical radiator heating-up in an odd way

I had exactly the same problem with a string of Ultraheat vertical rads (and a very poor retailer response, but that's a story for another day), all due to a missing diverter/baffle that spoils the flow through the radiator. As with you, both the feed and return pipes were hot to touch, but the...

    Sealant instead of decorators caulk

Try painting a small section and see how it takes? I've made the same mistake before and the sealant was still paintable.

Powering Audio Amp from extractor fan??

That won't happen, as Sonos is a wireless IP based streaming system, rather than an analogue audio transmitter/receiver system. I'd say the OP would probably be fine feeding the amp from the lighting circuit via an FCU fitted with 3A fuse, but it's still a bit of a rough workaround IMO.

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

If working on a similar theory to that applied with stud walls, I would say that it does not. Not that I think it would be applicable to this situation anyway.

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

The fact is that cables buried at <50mm need to be RCD protected. Clearly the meter tails are not protected and, as such, there's no point trying to repair the damage. The job needs to be done properly, and the easiest way will be for an electrician to run in a set of new, slightly longer tails...
