    Oil Boiler Replacement...

I do. So you think because i'm CORGI I am not qualified to fit oil boilers, in fact I have my OFT101/102/600a, which in my book says you cannot install tanks or oil supply, and no, I am not OFTEC registered, don't need to be. Incompetent people install/repair and service gas boilers as...

    Oil Boiler Replacement...

I don't see it like that Dave. OFTEC cost £169.20 per year and they want it five years up front, and you have to be re-assessed every five years, plus the fact that it is voluntary unlike CORGI. It costs me just £2,400, including lost time, every five years for Corgi re-assessment, how do...

    Boiler Flue

I would agree that the left hand side would have been a better option, however the OP said it was his request. Whilst I would endeavour to to advise my customers with possible options at the end of the day it is their choice, and with your attitude, I would'nt be surprised if the customer...

not enough mains pressure to run water heater

No, if you want to increase the pressure of the hot water from the cylinder, then fit a pump on the hot water outlet, to balance the supplies, take another feed direct from the cold water tank and use a twin impeller pump.

not enough mains pressure to run water heater

If you already have a cold water tank, then you only need a cylinder with an immersion heater, nothing magic about it.

    Oil Boiler Replacement...

To join OFTEC at this point in time is a matter of choice, i.e voluntary, just as it used to be with CORGI, but now we have to be CORGI registered.

not enough mains pressure to run water heater

You could use a combination cylinder, the top section is cold water that feeds the bottom section, which in turn is heated by an electrical element.

    Oil Boiler Replacement...

For how much longer though, is another matter.

    Oil Boiler Replacement...

OK, I'll rephrase it, they do not have to be OFTEC registered.

    Oil Boiler Replacement...

No you don't, you need a competent person.

You could also have a primatic cylinder, if not a sealed system.

The filling loop is letting by. The expansion vessel is knackered. The divertor/diaphragm/water valve is worn. Just to start you off. More concise information would be useful
