Sufficient Heat Output from this Radiator?

Thanks. Having looked at the matter with the benefit of that link whitespirit66 kindly provided I am beginning to see that. I will ask builder to see if the 376mm one will fit (I think it will) and at least that is 3000BTU vs 1800 (albeit costing twice as much). Since the current one is...

Sufficient Heat Output from this Radiator?

I double-checked and it is "BTU Rated" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310327167955?var=610029898018&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Sufficient Heat Output from this Radiator?

Many thanks That is interesting. I have to 700 x 600 double rads at the back (one behind a single seater sofa) which Screwfix says are 3320 each Radcalc says rooms needs 15800 BTU :( So the 2400 AT LEAST it will have to be!

Sufficient Heat Output from this Radiator?

Okay now I accept I am asking a "how long is a piece of string" type question but please bear with me! I have a 1.4m double "standard" radiator at the front on my living room but it is off as the tv etc are right in front of it. I will wall mount the TV (in a stud wall) and will...

    FENSA Certificate Clarification please

I didn't press it afterwards as I thought (correctly I guess) it might not be welcomed but DID want to apologise for the unintended oversight. The irony is I was coming back to an old thread hoping to do good and spread the help you gave me but I see I failed fairly spectacularly in one fell...

    FENSA Certificate Clarification please

Just to update this for anyone else's benefit. I did belts and braces and contacted FENSA. After a bit of too and fro they said: "This would not be a replacement window then as the window would be going in for the first time and no windows being taken out therefore no certificate would be...

paiting a room all white - what type of finish: wall/ceiling

Thanks Both. SWMBO has now decided hallway/landing also repainted and NOT white but the same colour as the dining room so I guess I am going to need 30-40l of the stuff - I will get them to mix into Dulux Trade Matt. Get the same in white for the front room and then the colour she wants for...

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

Fair enough. For my education, why does it have to be a Type C and not a higher Amp type B? eBay is awash with B16 and B32 ones for not a lot?

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

It is a B6 right now. I do have BG Home Serve cover with Electrical cover. Likely to be doable via that or do I need to source a Spark?

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

The light - actually 25 x 10w G4 bulbs (5 not working) the top - showing the enclosed part with the transformer integral I presume The fusebox. It is #2 that keeps tripping

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

The transformer would be integral - nothing was left behind I am almost certain and there is space at the top of the fitting where the transformer is likely to be covered as I said under this foil part - will post up a pic later. If it is a "surge" on switching on how can I test this and then...

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

Thanks The light was put up by my builder who does all the work for me. He was the one who put it up at the last house where it worked fine for years, took it down and then put it up again here (as well as taking it down and swapping out for a ceiling rose). It is one of those with lots of...

Light fitting keeps tripping fuse sometimes

Bit confused about this one. Brought a fancy light across from old house to new one and had it put up in reception room. Sometimes it comes on fine but other times when you try to turn it on it trips the fuse for lights on its circuit. Things is when I flick the switch back up on the fuse box...

paiting a room all white - what type of finish: wall/ceiling

Hi Hopefully a quick one. Redecorating new home (getting someone in) Here are the things I would value advice one: 1) one room is to be repainted white. Currently has painted walls (green!) and white ceiling. Is the same sheen (matt?) used for walls and ceilings? 2) seems to be lots of...
