    2 questions about wall plates

    I'm building a 3.5 x 7m shed in my garden. I'm up to the top of the walls - single skin blockwork. 1. is 100mm x 75 mm wall plate the norm ? 2. the top of my wall isn't quite as flat as a snooker table - do i bed my wall plate on a layer of mortar ?

    connnecting two pieces of flue liner together ?

    is it possible to do ? i need to line my chimney - my dads got about 24 foot of the stuff spare but my chimney is at least 30ft - i was thinking i could maybe buy another six ft and connect the two pieces together... is this sensible...... and how would i do it ?
