It would not be an airlock if it was a mains cold feed but could be if tank fed ? Is the other tap ok ? If so then you could swap them over (just the guts) and see what happens.

It might move it to anywhere in the system so you will have to bleed rads again. some may bleed itself depending on your system. shut off all rads except that one.

You have nothing to lose by changing the stat but if i get called out for a dodgy immersion i change the whole thing. :wink:

That dark gunge is probably the last lot you put in :shock: You have to put it in when tank/system is empty so as new water can send it around system. I have seen header tanks full of what looks like an Octopus caused by unmixed inhibitor :cry:

Air lock in rad.......guaranteed :cry: Try turning off all rad valves except that one and the pump might move it.

Order everything from Screwfix and then say something was missing and they will send you the whole lot again :lol: I once had 10 lengths of soil and 6 bends when just one bend was missing :D They even let me keep radiators with small scratches :D

Are you saying it is teed off the cistern feed pipe or the tap supply comes from the cistern itself ?

It's probably the gas valve. Just done one with same problem and if it was the thermocoupler it would go out straight away 99/100.

Backfill with a hose connected to mains pressure. Either push the hose down cold fill outlet on header tank a few inches or onto a drain off with a jub clip and turn mains on slow. This should get the system filled :D

The pipe you have could be 17,18 or 20mm ? and i suggest you cut off a small piece and take it with you. The inserts vary according to the pipe wall thickness so it is best to have it with you. The fitting you will need will/could look something like this...this is a 20 x15mm push fit and if...
